What's in the Dataset
Ten fiscal years (FY 2016 through FY 2025) of audited state records covering all Michigan traditional public school districts and public school academies (charters):
- Operating Spend & Instruction: Standardized current operating expenditures disaggregated by direct classroom instruction, central office administration, school building leadership, and operations.
- Fund Balances & Reserves: General operating fund balances, reserve margins, statutory early warning flags, and separate capital project fund balances.
- Staffing & Teacher Salaries: Average teacher salaries, full-time classroom teacher counts, student-to-teacher ratios, and educator experience.
- Headcounts & Local Tax Millages: Official 90/10 student blend counts, non-homestead operating millages, sinking fund rates, and debt levy histories.
